Staff and Faculty |
A faculty
of highly qualified and experienced professionals, working
in their fields of expertise, maintain excellent teaching
standards.
The staff to student ratio is typically 1:6. This ensures
each student receives individualized attention. The manner
of study is diverse, combining lectures, discussions,
seminars, workshops and hands-on experience such as laboratories,
art studio and research projects. In all of them, students
work and learn together. The most formal of
these is
the lecture. In a seminar, a group and a member of staff
meet to discuss and review a paper prepared by one of
the group. The tutorial offers individual contact between
small groups of students and an academic tutor, and provides
opportunity to discuss the content, organization and style
of a piece of work, and to receive individual feedback
on progress.
Since Alta Vista College aims at the highest standards
